A goal is a future position we want to be in or maintain. We move ourselves into the future and express ourselves in the present tense. The goals reflect the balance between our Outside-in perspective, i.e. the expectations from our surroundings, and our Inside-out perspective, i.e. our own ambitions and wishes. The goals can be concluded in a long term vision. The future does not exist – we create our goals with our thoughts, our emotions, pictures – yes, with all our Five Aspects. When our goals are about the future position we want to be in, they open up to our creativity regarding how to reach them in a developing, fun, meaningful and profitable way. Lotscoach® John Dunnigan shares a story that gives us a perspective on how important goals are and also how difficult it can be to define them.
